Because it’s there

I started reading a new book today. I know it will be shock that is has to do with cycling. In this case, it’s a cyclists who wanted to use her bike to cross Alaska in the winter. Yes, yes, I know the first thing that probably pops into your head is “WHY?? Why would someone want to do that?” (And for the record, I think cycling is Alaska would be amazing!! In winter it would totally suck!)

November Challenges

As we know, I live in the Pacific Northwest. Specifically, Mountlake Terrace, about 15 miles (a 45 minute drive at rush hour) north of Seattle. We in the PNW know that when the Month of November hits it is time to hunker down! November is, bar none the stormiest, and worst weather month of the year. So far, 2017 has lived up to this.

Winter is coming, wait, Winter is here!!

So this morning, there I was, getting ready for the ride to work. I had the riding shorts on, and I debating which coat to wear. It had been raining over night, and the forecast had called for showers today.

Being lazy, I didn’t walk to the window to look outside, I simply said, “Computer, what’s the weather?”  (Yes I admit it, I have an Alexa (OK it’s an Echo) , and being a Star Trek Geek, I changed it to respond to “Computer” instead of “Alexa” But it is totally cool to say “Computer, play Jimmy Buffett!” )

The GoPro and 2017

Folks, there truly are such things as first world problems.  You know the ones: Internet is down so you can’t read my blog posts (which I am sure is your favorite!). The Starbucks App won’t pre-order so you actually have to stand in line, or the iPad dies just as you get to the best part of a book on the Kindle app…
