Just Dumb Fun

We all get busy. Kids have homework, adults have errands and chores and work and responsibilities. Somehow we also have to fit in workouts, reading books, sleep and yep, even writing a blog. Because of this, weekends end up going by too quickly.

Michelle and I share a brain, and quite often we both have the same thought simultaneously.  Last week I looked at her and said, “Its been a long time since the Manchild and I did something fun together.” She nodded immediately, saying “I meant to mention that to you! It has been!”

Today we fixed that! Continue reading “Just Dumb Fun”

Friends in Low Places

I am not a big country and western fan, but there are a few I will bust into ‘harmony’ (or lack there of) with when they come on the radio, or Pandora or someone’s play list.  One it Garth Brooks’ Friends in Low Places.

The talks can revolve around video games, school work, The Walking Dead or whatever pops into our heads.  This week, after passing people playing soccer in the rain, we started talking about the sports he has been involved with over the years. Continue reading “Its the doing that matters.”

Easter Traditions

Michelle and I were talking today about someone we both know.  He was telling her all the things he HAD to do both tonight and tomorrow because its Easter.  All in the name of tradition.

Michelle and I have it easier.  Every Easter she makes Au Gratin taters and we just hang out together.  Its nice, and normally we don’t have to go anywhere or do anything.  But her telling me about this person reminded me of the year my almost missing Easter completely restyled in a new tradition… Continue reading “Easter Traditions”

OK, tell me when you get tired of me blogging about the kids!

It is amazing how one year can suddenly be different from almost every year prior.  Here we are, the week before christmas week, kids are getting ready to go on Christmas Break from school, and for the last five years at this time, I was mad as hell.

conan!

Why you ask? Well I’ll tell you…. Continue reading “OK, tell me when you get tired of me blogging about the kids!”
