We moved down to Oregon on Saturday March 24th. On the 26th, I fired up the home office for the first time and we have been gong strong ever since. Working, walking on the beach, doing chores around the house, and in general, just living.
As I have two big rides coming up soon, each weekend has found me on the bike, doing progressively longer and harder rides to get ready for them. It’s a labor of love, as I truly enjoy time on the bike. Plus, with the way I love to eat, if I didn’t ride, I’d look like this!
Since the birth of the Mountainstroh Blog 4 years (wow 4!) ago, I have posted during every vacation. I do it because it is fun, and it helps me remember the fun stuff that happens, and lets me share my fun with people stuck at work.
Not everything that happens though makes it into a post. Sometimes I forget. Sometimes something cooler happened, and sometimes I just think I will add it later.
You know, as time goes on, I am finding it harder and harder to leave our vacation spots and head home. Last year, after the Oregon Coast bike trip, I was honestly bummed out for quite a while to be back at work. As I sit here and blog, I am really NOT wanting to go back to the office tomorrow.
How do you know you are relaxing more and more on a vacation? It’s when you wake up later and later. No lie, I have been seriously lazy this week, but it just feels SO damn good to sleep in. Yesterday was no different. Continue reading “Cannon Beach 2017 Part IV”→
From the pictures I’ve posted you might not know it, but I am telling you, this has been a wild week of weather. Tuesday night I was woken up more than once by the winds howling over our skylights. Add to it, heavy rains, followed by sun breaks, and its been fun.
Remember yesterday when I said Michelle was up before me and rarin to go? Well today was a the same. I was hard asleep and when I opened an eye she was sitting up in bed staying in touch with the world on her iPad. I, in turn, did what every lazy hubby would do, and reclosed that one eye and went back to sleep! It wasn’t time to wake up yet! Continue reading “Cannon Beach 2017 Day II”→
Monday morning dawned, and Michelle was up and raring to go after her half Marathon. How ready was she? Well after walking 13.1 miles the day before, she popped out of bed, put on her workout gear and went down to the workout room for a recovery elliptical machine session.
Yesterday, I took the chance to rave (and complain a little) about some great breakfasts I had along the Oregon Coast. The 50 mile omelets did a great job getting me on the road, up and over the hillsand to our final destination. There is only one problem with this, after 50 miles the 50 mile omelet wears off and you get hungry again! The ladies soon learned that after we got to the hotel and showered it was time to feed us NOW! Continue reading “Food Makes the Legs Go Round, part 2”→
As we rode along the Oregon Coast, Rob and I saw some amazing sights. Whales swimming, waves crashing, gorgeous trees and great beaches. Most of the stops along the way were due to me wanting to take year another photo.
