You know, sometimes you just need an extra day off during the week… This week, I was lucky enough to score a Friday!
Before I get into that, the important stuff first. Michelle and I are happy and healthy, and yep still employed! We made sure to get our flu shots last month, and even though we are back in a Covid shutdown for a couple of weeks, we are making the most of it.
We have already decorated for Christmas
And in our backyard, Frosty the snowman is holding auditions for Santa’s Sleigh Team.
We even went out for dinner the day before the shut down began. Tidal Raves in Depoe Bay has done an excellent job keeping people separated and safe, and who would miss a sunset like this?
OK, OK I know. Lately the blog has been mostly about cycling… But in all fairness, the Mountainstroh blog started as a cycling site. Then, as time when on, it just became more about life in general, and since my life, especially this time of year, seems to revolve around cycling, it kinda makes sense! Plus cycling at the Oregon coast is amazing!
However, there is something new that is wedging its way into life. In fact it is becoming a bit of habit. The Beachwalk!
As much as we all love a good vacation, we look forward to it, plan it, and love when it happens, all too soon the day comes when you have to go home. You KNOW it’s a good vacation when you start thinking, I wonder if I could wrangle just one more day….
So there I was last night, fast asleep. And when I snooze, I snooze HARD! However, along about 11:30 my eyes snapped open. Outside the wind was howling, the waves were crashing and a storm was raging. The hotel we are in keeps flood lights on so you can always see the waves.
I laid in bed for a bit and saw that the wind was blowing so hard, that sand was blowing higher than our room past our balcony. We are on the second floor. I jumped out of bed, and went on the deck in just my underwear (OK, TMI, but I did) and saw the ocean was roiling!
