Last weekend I got a bit busy with stuff in general. You know how it is, Jig saw puzzles, walks, and bike maintenance. Somehow I flat missed the weekly update!
First off, the most important piece. Michelle and I are happy and healthy and still working! We are bummed we aren’t in Italy as planned, but otherwise life is good here on the coast!
I saw this recently on Facebook, and it fits me pretty well in these interesting times we are a living in.
Truth be told, aside from not being able to go to our favorite places for dinner after work, and the trip into Safeway done at an almost dead run, things aren’t much different for me.
its a good thing we are surviving well! We just found out this week that our town is closed until June 1. No hotels open, and asking nonresidents to stay away. Personally I think they are trying to avoid the crush of people who would be here on Memorial Day weekend if they opened sooner. People aint happy about it, and it is tough on the town, but I gotta say, I think its the right plan…
In the Last couple of years, our niece Abby has twice braved the weather and TSA to come up from Texas to visit.
Well it seemed only fair that Michelle and I return the favor. It had been in the plans once, but things fell through for some reason. This seemed like a perfect time, though, given a recent event in her life
Since the birth of the Mountainstroh Blog 4 years (wow 4!) ago, I have posted during every vacation. I do it because it is fun, and it helps me remember the fun stuff that happens, and lets me share my fun with people stuck at work.
Not everything that happens though makes it into a post. Sometimes I forget. Sometimes something cooler happened, and sometimes I just think I will add it later.
I love going places with Michelle. No matter where we go, we generally will park the car and walk all over the place. From Key West to Vancouver BC, Disneyland to Boston, there is NO way I could even guess how many miles we’ve gone.
I am the same way when I travel alone as well. In Spokane, unless I have driven and taken the bike with me, I will only use the car to go to the office, otherwise I walk wherever I want to go.
In May, the third Friday of the month has historically been Bike to Work Day. OK, I know, y’all are thinking “But Tony, almost everyday is bike to work day for you!” This is very true. However, this is a day set up to encourage EVERYONE to do so!
You know, there are times that life just flat gets busy. Work, family, family, work, house, kids, work, life, cats, and whatever else pops up taking those precious extra hours of the day away from us. It’s a wonder we all just ain’t frazzled beyond belief!
Sometimes you just have to say,”Screw it!” and have a Just Cuz afternoon…
