Good morning all. I very much hope things are going as well as they can for anyone reading this.
Update from the coast. Michelle and I are still employed. We, and ours are still healthy and, things are going well.
I think she is healthy because she is smart and careful, and makes sure to keep us out of danger. For me it more like this
Like many of y’all, the Governor of our state has issued a shelter in place order Continue reading “Shelter in Place, Week one!”
So, its been a bit busy since New Years. Shoot, since before Christmas!
Since I had the last two Wednesdays off, for Christmas and New Year’s Day, it felt like I’ve had 4 Mondays and 4 Tuesdays during that time… It’s been a bit of a madhouse.
However, it is Sunday afternoon, chores are done, Christmas has been put away for the year, and its time to look back a bit… Continue reading “The 2019 Recap”
I first started to title this post “Fall at the Oregon Coast”. However, since I am a bike rider, where falls do occur, and my mom reads the blog (and worries) I decided to title it AUTUMN at the Oregon Coast.
OK, on to the post!
Most people visit here in the summer when the sun is warm, the water, although cold, is calm, and there is a good chance of no rain.
The roads around here start getting busy in May. Then from Memorial Day to Labor Day, the coast, especially on weekends, is hopping! We DO have traffic jams, and miles long back ups!

I was a GREAT Oregon Coast weekend.
I know, I know! When have I ever said it was a bad weekend on the Oregon Coast? For that matter, when have I ever said it was a bad Oregon Coast day?
But this one was great for things to see, weather, and just plain fun!
I shoulda known something good was coming. Thursday I got drenched on a 26 mile after work ride (though I did see whales as I ate my trail mix cookie in the deluge.)
As I got close to home, though, and crossed the bridge into town, I looked up Schooner Creek and saw this.
I am starting a new wivestail! Rainbow on Thursday means great weekend coming…. Continue reading “Boy you must have pedaled like the dickens!”
We’ve all been there. When you do something a lot, and you are good at it, you forget what it was like when you were just learning.
I am reminded of this a lot on the Oregon coast. It may surprise you to know I am not talking about bike riding. I am talking about spotting whales.

I keep waiting for it to happen. Sooner or later, someone who follows this blog is going to say. “Dammit! Enough is enough! I am tired of ‘I love living on the Oregon Coast posts!!!’ ” Well, reader beware, here comes another one…. Continue reading “Yes, yes indeed I belong here”
Ladies and gents I am getting spoiled! The weather has been nothing but amazing this entire month. (Funny, the one real rain we had, Michelle and I were in Portland at the zoo!) Aside from those days, October has looked like this
Blue sky, sunshine and warm… Continue reading “But that is not what the fuzzy bear caterpillars tell me”
