Today was an exciting day. Michelle and I finally made time to get the DMV this morning. We walked out, eventually, with Oregon State Driver’s licenses! What does eventually mean? I didn’t know I needed to bring a birth certificate or passport with me!
In Washington, there is no proof of citizenship, but Oregon is different. A second after lunch trip meant I finally got mine!
It was a night to celebrate Continue reading “We will never know the answer….”
Y’all know I am not big on meeting people. I ride alone (for the most part) I hike alone, and I am pretty much an introvert. I like it that way.
The one exception seems to be Starbucks Baristas. For some reason, by the second week of being in Lincoln City, I was known by Melissa, Sharae, Serena, Nuemi and Jake. Shoot, by the time I get to the counter from the parking lot, as often as not, the green ice tea I am picking up for Michelle is sitting on the counter waiting for me. It is good to be a regular!
Well the other exception is Jesse and Luis… Continue reading “Jesse and Luis”
So, as we all now know, Mountainstroh and Mrs. Mountainstroh have moved out of the Puget Sound area of Washington. Last Saturday, we pointed our noses to the Southwest and arrived at Lincoln City. Since then, we have been going nonstop, with our OH SO helpful friends to set up the house, there are SO many more posts to come about the move in… Continue reading “After Work in Lincoln City!”
As much as we all love a good vacation, we look forward to it, plan it, and love when it happens, all too soon the day comes when you have to go home. You KNOW it’s a good vacation when you start thinking, I wonder if I could wrangle just one more day….
That was me this morning… Continue reading “Plan B comes to an end..”
So there I was last night, fast asleep. And when I snooze, I snooze HARD! However, along about 11:30 my eyes snapped open. Outside the wind was howling, the waves were crashing and a storm was raging. The hotel we are in keeps flood lights on so you can always see the waves.
I laid in bed for a bit and saw that the wind was blowing so hard, that sand was blowing higher than our room past our balcony. We are on the second floor. I jumped out of bed, and went on the deck in just my underwear (OK, TMI, but I did) and saw the ocean was roiling! I dove back into bed to warm up and I was back asleep… Continue reading “The perfect day to hang out in the room!”
Well ladies and gents, as promised in the last post, we have made it to The Inn At Spanish Head in Lincoln city!
As always we have a great view of the water, and it has been a great day and a half! Continue reading “Plan B in full swing!”
Long time followers of the Mountainstroh blog may remember the Plan C vacation of a few years ago. Michelle and I woke up on a Saturday in the Washington, the state, planning to go to bed in Washington the DC.
That night, due to storms, a small fire, and cancelled flights, we ended up at the Oregon coast. I still have never gotten to DC, but that was a great vacation!
Sadly, this week, we had to make new plans again…. Continue reading “Changing on the fly!”
