Seattle to Portland Thoughts

Here we are, three days after crossing the finish line in Portland. My rear end no longer pains me when I sit, the old man noises have dwindled some and I was able to walk the neighborhood with Michelle.

The bike still sits in the garage and will NOT move for another week, but the body is on its way to recovery.

This was my 4th time on this ride, the first was exactly 10 years ago, and I did it in two days, the rest were all 1 day rides.

These are just some random thinkings about my rides and the STP in general… Continue reading “Seattle to Portland Thoughts”

Dark of the moon, on the 6th of June…

Today is June 6th. Many people think of this as the anniversary of D Day, the day in WWII the allies stormed the beaches of Europe in 1944. In truth, one of the most important days of the last century.

However, for your buddy Mountainstroh, it brings to mind something completely different. It is the opening line of the song Convoy… Continue reading “Dark of the moon, on the 6th of June…”

Looking back at 2017

Well folks, here it is, 3 oclock in the afternoon on New Years day. We have taken down the Christmas trees, gone grocery shopping, hit the book the sale at 3rd Place Books and I snuck in a COLD 30 mile ride on the Burke Gilman trail. All in all an eventful day.

As the book starts, she tries to tackle the question She, and I, and many of us who push themselves get, WHY do you do stuff like this? Continue reading “Because it’s there”

Somewhere along the line I made the rule that I would change the name every 5000 miles. Now at the time, I thought it would be a LONG assed time between name changes!

Little did I know what would really happen… Continue reading “A new Milestone and a new name!”

Hanging together during the eclipse

Ever wonder how many bloggers there are out in the universe we call the interwebs? I generally don’t think much about it until a day like today. As I busted out the MacBook for my eclipse day post, it hit me that there are probably millions, hell tens of millions other bloggers doing the same thing.

Some might think, “Eh, why bother” after that thought. But hell, its by blog, my eclipse day, so why not? Here it is… Continue reading “Hanging together during the eclipse”
