Somethings don’t change regardless of where you live.
Wherever you are, there are errands to run, chores to do, and bathrooms to clean. Ocean house or not, there are just things to have to get done.
Another commonality is the after work bike ride.
On morning rides, I have ALL day. I can go as far as I want and no worries. After work rides? I have to factor in sundown. I am not afraid of riding at night, but I prefer not to, especially when I have to work the next day. This tends to mean the evening rides follow the same routes each time.
I have a 20 and a 40 mile route, and it depends on when I get off work, the winds and how the legs are feeling, as to which one I choose.
I am learning, though, that one never knows what will happen on a ride here on the coast… Continue reading “OK, THAT was cool!”
Ladies and gents, this week has been a butt kicker at work. Things that seem simple at first glance have gone into a tail spin as I’ve worked on them. It does make the day go fast, but this week I honestly coulda worked extra hours each night. Last night, Michelle kicked me out on a ride instead… Continue reading “I’m a helper!”
Looking at the calendar, I am amazed to say we have been here over 2 weeks! That’s two-plus weeks of unpacking, working, and getting things done! Truly my two biggest accomplishments with the house are the fact that both cars can fit in the garage

We are getting to the point where most of the work is done! It feels like home.
It has not all been work though, the bike and I have had some travels… Continue reading “Side roads….”
As much as we all love a good vacation, we look forward to it, plan it, and love when it happens, all too soon the day comes when you have to go home. You KNOW it’s a good vacation when you start thinking, I wonder if I could wrangle just one more day….
That was me this morning… Continue reading “Plan B comes to an end..”
As we all know the plan this week was supposed to be San Francisco and Napa. In fact, today we would’ve picked up a rental car and driven to wine country. Instead, we woke up here at the beach.
Yeah, I am NOT sad about that! Continue reading “We weren’t the only ones with a plan B trip!”
Today was day three of the vacation that should have found Michelle and I in the Nation’s Capitol, running around doing historical stuff, getting National Park Stamps and seeing things I had never seen before. Instead we are on the Oregon Coast and relaxing away!
Michelle checked the weather last night, and found this map.
Now we aren’t sure if DC is in the heavy rain or the severe storms or BOTH, but we know we are doing better here! Continue reading “Yep, so far I am thinking Plan C was a good choice!”
