There were some first time evers today…

Ladies and gents, we looked at the calendar last week and realized that this coming Thursday is Thanksgiving. That means it is November. Here in the northwest, both Seattle and the Oregon Coast, November is supposed to be the rainiest and wettest month of the year. Sometimes in Seattle it rains so much water comes OUT of the drains.

This year, we have had maybe two days of rain all month…

November Challenges

As we know, I live in the Pacific Northwest. Specifically, Mountlake Terrace, about 15 miles (a 45 minute drive at rush hour) north of Seattle. We in the PNW know that when the Month of November hits it is time to hunker down! November is, bar none the stormiest, and worst weather month of the year. So far, 2017 has lived up to this.

Riding your age

A few years ago, I learned of a cycling tradition. On your birthday you are supposed to ride your new age. I kinda like this idea, as anything that gets me out on two wheels is a good thing. However, I am pretty sure the guy or gal who started this was still in the 20s, and had a July birthday. Why? Because when you are in your 50s and have a November birthday this is MUCH more challenging.

This is a whole different year

Last year I joked from November through March that we were having “The Year Without a Winter.”  It was a season where the rains never came, and the snow never flew in the Cascades.
