Here we are at the end of the second week of the Oregon shelter in place rules.
Short update, Michelle and I are still doing well, and we are still working. We took today off from work as we both decided we needed a break, but otherwise, albeit slower, work continues.
A shout out to the Mighty P. They are giving every employee a small bonus next week to help out in these times. I did NOT see that coming and it one helluva nice thing to do. Like everyone, I have complained about work and corporate decisions over the years, but this reminds me why I work there! Well done!
It has been an eventful week… Continue reading “2nd Week of Shelter in Place”
When you move to a new town there are challenges. What day is garbage day? Where is the closest Starbucks? Where can you find farm fresh eggs? These are all things that need to be figured out.
You also have to find that certain place or places you like to go to just hang out. As much fun as it is to just be at home, its nice to find that place you like to go where they know your name and treat you well.
We are lucky that we have found two places! One is Fathoms, the 10th floor at the inn at Spanish Head. We can have dinner and watch a sun down.
The other is The Red Roof… Continue reading “It’s a good thing we showed up!”
Its been a long busy WET month.
Halfway through the month of March we have already received our average amount of rain. As I type this, its is raining now, and will be raining tomorrow as well! UGH!!
But this is NOT about the weather, it’s about a father and son taking the long way home… Continue reading “The Scenic Route”
Had myself a bit of a giggle this evening when I was out and about with the Manchild for dinner. Tonight, for something different, we went to Rock Woodfired Pizza. I like the place because it has great pizza, music videos from the 80s (Joan Jett’s I Love Rock and Roll baby!) and really good service.
Manchild likes it for the music and the food, and because normally we get really cute servers who are close to his age. Sadly, for him, today’s server was Michael. Continue reading “Just gotta be tougher than the ride”
I know this will come as a shock to all of those who know me and to most of you who read this blog. But I feel its time I make a confession. Yes, it is true, I like to pick on people. Michelle and I refer to it as poking the bear. Why do I do this? Well, because it’s fun.
Last weekend Mathmajor and his girlfriend spent the night with us. They were in town for a Rave (yeah still not sure what a rave is, but they were here). She was very sweet, and polite and thanked me for letting them stay with us. I just looked at her, deadpan, and said “Wait! What? You are staying here too? He only said he wanted to stay he never mentioned you!” Behind her I could see Mathmajor smiling and shaking his head.
She just froze, and then “Well I could just drive to Tacoma afterwards, its not THAT far (40 miles from here) really its ok….” I lost it and giggled, Michelle kicked me, and all was good. Now picking on her was ok for just a bit, afterwards, it would be like kicking a puppy. I was very nice to her after that.
However, those that know me, and have for a while, get picked on MUCH more!

Just a quick post, and sorry for any iPad typos. Te 15-year-old and I are at Ocean Shores for a beach clean up day. Traffic sucked on the way, but we stopped at dinner time for one of our faves Taco del Mar!
However, after getting here and relaxing, he chimes up with ”HEY lets get late night pizza!” I of course think “already ate, I’m comfy, sure as hell don’t need the calories of pizza at 10pm….”
But then I thought, how many more times will he WANT to go for late night pizza with me instead of the “guys” Ah what the hell!
Belined to Red Genie that was closing soon , after getting lost! And brought home a medium Tsunami pizza! Everything on it. Hell, I forgot how good pizza tastes after 10 pm!
Good thing next week will be a good one for the bike! I need some serious miles under this butt! Time to get ready to clean a beach!
