Santa Rosa Part II

Last October, while Michelle and Kim we getting ready for the Portland Half Marathon, the Santa Rosa trip had its genesis.  In the hotel where the packet pick up was occurring, other runs were lobbying for people to sign up,

This run had it dialed in.  They gave them each a shirt, a jacket, AND a free bottle of wine!  The ladies signed up and we started making plans for the trip! Yesterday morning was the big event, the day of the run! Continue reading “Santa Rosa Part II”

Now you can almost understand the COUG magic!

I know this may be shocking to y’all, but sometimes, and I know it is probably rare, a Facebook post gets misinterpreted by some.  I know, I can hear the collective “GASP” and a loud “Ta HELL you say!!” but yes it is true.  It happened to me yesterday when I posted.

Ok y’all. Know that feeling you had today, watching the match, USA team dodging bullet after bullet, all along thinking they could pull it off, knowing it was possible until the very end? That is almost as magical as the feeling you get as a COUG!

I thought I would take this opportunity to explain how this is so.. Continue reading “Now you can almost understand the COUG magic!”

Why do I track miles?

Anyone who reads 10,000 miles even semi-regularly knows that at the end of each month I do a “Racking up the Miles” post to let the world (or as many people who want to read the blog) know just how far I have pedaled in the last 30 days.  Tomorrow, as it will be the last ride of the month, and the year for that matter, I will being doing the same thing for December.  That will make 12 full months in row I have done so.

Now I will tell you, these are NOT my most well read posts.  Shoot, there have been times that my Racking up posts have had less than 10 readers.  Reading about the miles just isn’t all that exciting I guess.  In fact, the only time it ever had a decent readership is when i posted it with this picture from comicon:

So a SMART blogger might think, “HEY, maybe, just maybe, I should stop writing these posts.”

But then, I was NEVER accused of being all THAT smart when it came to my posts…

The Proudest Hubby Ever!

I first published this in September.  But I have gotten a number of new followers since then.  The run is right around the corner, so I thought I’d republish!  If you already donated, THANK YOU!  But if anyone has the urge to toss a few bucks for a good cause, it would be appreciated.  Michelle continues to impress me EVERY day,  Love you Babe!

My gorgeous wife Michelle gets mentioned a lot in this Blog, it’s because, except when I am on the bike, we are pretty much attached at the hip!  The good news is it’s because we like it that way.  We make each other smile and laugh, cheer each other up when we are down.  Support each other in our endeavors, and reassure each other when we doubt ourselves.

And yep, every chance a get I sneak peaks and check her out!  She is 6 weeks older than I am (yep I married an older woman) but she looks 10 years younger than me.  She is also an excellent mum to our kids (they love her), a great daughter, a loving auntie, and an excellent friend.  The woman really is amazing.

Any one of these would be enough for me to be proud of her.  But today, she topped them all. Continue reading “The Proudest Hubby Ever!”
