So when I last left y’all, I had told you that Michelle and I had had one HELLUVA busy weekend last week. (See That was a busy 36 hours!) I will tell you that the week did slow down a bit, and I was NOT rushing near as much as last Saturday. Continue reading “it was an interesting week!”
So this morning, there I was, getting ready for the ride to work. I had the riding shorts on, and I debating which coat to wear. It had been raining over night, and the forecast had called for showers today.
Being lazy, I didn’t walk to the window to look outside, I simply said, “Computer, what’s the weather?” (Yes I admit it, I have an Alexa (OK it’s an Echo) , and being a Star Trek Geek, I changed it to respond to “Computer” instead of “Alexa” But it is totally cool to say “Computer, play Jimmy Buffett!” )
Alexa replied, “Currently, in Mountlake Terrace, it is 34 degrees with snow flurries!” WAIT WHAT??? Continue reading “Winter is coming, wait, Winter is here!!”
Sometimes, ladies and gents, you have to make an executive decision. Work is important, as it pays the bills, let’s me eat regularly and allows Michelle and to go on vacations. However, for me, a summer that has already been wicked busy, is soon going to get worse!
Michelle and I have a couple of days off together coming up (at least one for sure will be blogworthy) but other than that it is straight on work till Labor Day weekend.
Last week I looked at the calendar and made an executive decision. Monday was honestly my only window, it was time to take a day off and ride! Continue reading “Playing Hookie”
Well folks, we’ve all heard that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Given that, it truly was with the best of intentions that I planned the outing today for Michelle and I. She has told me for the last couple of years that she wanted to go hiking, So, with a 4 day weekend coming here (we took today off from work!) I picked a trail for us to go…. Once again I was called upon by the Mighty P to leave the land of year round (well for the most part) cycling and head east to the wilds of Eastern Washington. Yep, I had to make the run to Spokane again to train some new hires, molding them into my image.
For those of you who do not know, Spokane is in the midst of its snowiest and coldest winter in years…. Continue reading “The things we do to stay in shape!”
September last, the OCOB (Oregon Coast or Bust) crew started south from Astoria Oregon to Crescent City California. Rob and I were using leg power to get there.
While our faithful Sherpas, Michelle and Kim had to use every muscle in their bodies to schlep all the luggage and the gear into and out of the hotel everyday.
Aside from sore legs, arms and a few bruises from the equipment, we all escaped injury free. A very successful trip!
But then January hit… Continue reading “Rough Week for the OCOB 2016 crew”
Back in April 2013, I started back with the mighty P. Since that time, each and every month, I have cycle commuted. When I worked downtown, I threw the bike on back of the car so Michelle and I could commute in together, and I would cycle the 17 miles home. Since moving to the Lynnwood office, I bike the 5 mile one way trip 3 or 4 times a week.
In addition I do longer rides after work in the summer. In the fall and winter though, I have to wait until the weekends to do so. December 2016 has NOT been conducive to riding… Continue reading “Time to suck it up!”
