Dawn to dusk

So, in a week or so, Michelle and I will hit the 9 month mark of the day we moved to the coast. There were those who believed, and hell maybe still believe, that we’d get tired of living here.

In all honestly, just like anywhere, there are work days that suck ass, and days where nothing all that memorable happens. There is magic at the coast, but that magic does not happen every day.

But then there are days like today. Where from before sun up, to after sun down, the coast puts on a show! When that happens we love it! And since it happened today, I wanted to share with you… Continue reading “Dawn to dusk”

There were some first time evers today…

Ladies and gents, we looked at the calendar last week and realized that this coming Thursday is Thanksgiving. That means it is November. Here in the northwest, both Seattle and the Oregon Coast, November is supposed to be the rainiest and wettest month of the year. Sometimes in Seattle it rains so much water comes OUT of the drains.

This year, we have had maybe two days of rain all month…

Riding the birthday years

Funny thing about us cyclists. We do our best to come up with reasons to ride. Just for the bragging rights and a patch, we will ride 200+ miles from Seattle to Portland in a day.

Or 150 miles and 10000 feet of climbing on a hot summer day.

But there doesn’t need to be a patch. Somewhere along the way some cyclist came up with the birthday years ride… Continue reading “Riding the birthday years”

A drive to remember

As we all know, the reason Michelle and I were able to move here to the coast is because the Mighty P let us telecommute from here. My normal work attire now is shorts, t-shirt and no shoes or sock.

However, the expectation when we moved here was that we would need to come back from time to time and work in the office. This week was a whirlwind trip for me. The drive up was uneventful, and the time in the office productive. My boss also convinced me to finally let him take me out for my 5th anniversary lunch. (My second 5th anniversary.)

We went to Red Robin! YUM!!!

But it was the drive home, that will be remembered. Continue reading “A drive to remember”

But that is not what the fuzzy bear caterpillars tell me

Ladies and gents I am getting spoiled! The weather has been nothing but amazing this entire month. (Funny, the one real rain we had, Michelle and I were in Portland at the zoo!) Aside from those days, October has looked like this

Blue sky, sunshine and warm…  Continue reading “But that is not what the fuzzy bear caterpillars tell me”

Taking advice from a crazy guy on a bike

Many of my posts begin with the fact that I am learning new stuff about where we now live all the time. This one is no exception. This time it’s about the weather.

Michelle and I have a running joke that the weatherman and weather apps flat have no idea what our weather is going to do. We look outside on a day its supposed to rain, and its sun. A day that is supposed to be calmand the trees are bending over. We just look at each other and laugh and say, “They don’t know!”

This week the story has been fog… Continue reading “Taking advice from a crazy guy on a bike”
